The Dallas Cowboys snapped a two-game losing streak with a convincing 17-point victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, using an efficient passing attack, a productive running game and timely defensive stops to take control of their NFC East rivalry matchup.
Quarterback Dak Prescott delivered touchdown passes to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, while running back Javonte Williams repeatedly found openings against the Philadelphia defense.
The victory improved Dallas to 3-4 and extended Philadelphia's losing streak to five games.
Dallas opened the scoring with a field goal, but Philadelphia responded behind running back Saquon Barkley, who returned after missing two games.
Barkley immediately demonstrated his explosiveness, breaking loose for a 29-yard gain before scoring on a run around the edge. Although he appeared to experience some discomfort during the drive, he remained effective when on the field.
The Cowboys answered with a balanced possession featuring Williams and Prescott.
A 34-yard completion to Ryan Flournoy moved Dallas into scoring position, and Prescott finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Lamb. The receiver made an impressive spinning catch against tight coverage from Cooper DeJean.
Philadelphia regained the lead when running back Dameon Pierce scored on a short run, benefiting from a drive extended by Dallas defensive penalties.
The Cowboys responded again.
Williams continued gaining yards after contact, while Prescott used both his arm and mobility to sustain the offense. The drive ended with a precisely placed touchdown pass to Pickens, who made a difficult catch near the sideline.
Dallas added a field goal just before halftime, taking a six-point advantage into the break.
Philadelphia opened the second half with an extended scoring drive led by quarterback Tanner McKee, who was starting in place of the injured Jalen Hurts.
McKee connected with Hollywood Brown and rookie Makai Lemon, eventually finding Lemon for a touchdown that brought the Eagles back into contention.
But Dallas continued answering.
Prescott connected with Flournoy before delivering another perfectly placed touchdown pass to Lamb, who created separation from cornerback Riq Woolen and secured the catch near the boundary.
Prescott also converted a two-point attempt with a quarterback run, adding to Dallas' advantage.
The Cowboys' defense became increasingly effective as the game progressed.
Rookie defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku recorded a sack, while linebacker DeMarvion Overshown intercepted McKee in his first game back from injury. The interception was only Dallas' second of the season.
Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams also recorded a sack, helping disrupt Philadelphia's attempts to mount another comeback.
Meanwhile, Dallas continued leaning on its rushing attack.
Williams repeatedly broke through the Eagles' defensive front, including a substantial gain that moved the Cowboys deep into Philadelphia territory. His ability to gain yards after contact helped Dallas control possession and keep the Eagles' offense off the field.
Philadelphia's difficulties became especially apparent late in the game.
Facing fourth down, McKee completed a pass to Brown, but the receiver was stopped short of the necessary yardage by defensive lineman Tyleik Williams' fellow defender Ty Robinson.
Dallas subsequently converted an important third down with another Williams run, effectively putting the game beyond Philadelphia's reach.
For Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer, the performance represented a welcome return to the offensive balance Dallas had demonstrated earlier in the season.
Prescott distributed the football effectively, Lamb and Pickens delivered important catches, and Williams supplied the physical running game needed to sustain drives.
The defense also showed improvement, particularly in the second half, when pressure and an interception helped prevent Philadelphia from keeping pace.
The Cowboys left Philadelphia with a much-needed divisional victory and renewed momentum heading into their next matchup against Arizona.
