Established in 1970 with the blessing of Vince Lombardi's family, the award recognizes an outstanding collegiate offensive or defensive lineman who exemplifies not only athletic excellence but also the character, discipline, leadership, and integrity for which Coach Lombardi was known. Beyond celebrating achievement on the football field, the award has helped raise millions of dollars for cancer research, continuing a mission that has combined sportsmanship with philanthropy for more than five decades.
